Background
The government of Thuringia consists of the Minister-President and several state ministers, for example for the interior, justice, finance, education, economic affairs or social affairs. Relations with other countries, however, are the responsibility of the federation (Articles 32 and 73 of the Basic Law) – through the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. The states may only cooperate with other countries to a limited extent, for example with partner regions.
