Background
Digitalisation, new technology and artificial intelligence are changing many jobs. That is why Germany offers many opportunities for further training: courses at the adult education centre, training from the employer, advanced vocational training to become a master craftsman or technician with “Aufstiegs-BAföG” funding, or part-time study alongside work. In most federal states, employees are entitled to educational leave, often five days a year. The employment agency advises on and funds further training under certain conditions.
