Quick explanation
The European Parliament works in Strasbourg, Luxembourg and Brussels.
Why is this correct?
Strasbourg is the official seat for plenary sessions, Brussels the place for committees and Luxembourg the seat of the administration.
Background
The fact that Parliament works in three places is set out in the EU treaties and is a compromise between the member states. For the members, this means a lot of travel: every month, Parliament moves from Brussels to Strasbourg for a session week. This is repeatedly debated, but any change would have to be agreed unanimously by all member states. This question is closely related to question 234.
Why are the other answers wrong?
Paris, London, The Hague, Rome, Bern, Vienna, Bonn, Zurich and Milan are not places of work of the European Parliament. Bern and Zurich are in Switzerland, which is not an EU member at all; London is in the United Kingdom, which has left the EU.
Memory tip
